Elm Street in Springfield

LeRoi and Brent

I wish I could remember how and when I first met LeRoi, but those details are lost forever in the fog... It was Spring of 1974, and I was looking for a place to live, and I moved in with LeRoi, Hass, and Muck in a house on Elm street, near National. The house is gone now, I think a Hardees stands there now.

It was quite the party house. I remember the house just being packed with people, you could barely move. Gail and I realized that we had been at some of the same parties there before we met.

The photo is of LeRoi and Brent.

Party On, Leroy

It was the summer of 1975 and I was living in a house on West St. in Springfield, MO with numerous other people. I arrived home Saturday evening after working for a friend at a plant store (hoping for a much wanted and needed job)downtown to find nobody home. They had all abandoned me for a day of sun and frivolity at Lake of the Ozarks. Gloomily trying to decide what to do with myself, I answered the phone. It was Leroy, my savior, wanting to know if anyone at our house wanted to go to this party he knew of. Somehow, Leroy always knew where the parties were.
